Rubber Spot rubber stays steady Aravindan Kottayam, Dec. 18 Physical rubber prices were unchanged on Tuesday taking advantage from a similar closing in global indices. Sheet rubber RSS 4 finished unchanged at Rs 91.25 and Rs 91 a kg respectively at Kottayam and Kochi. The volumes were extremely dull as major manufacturers stuck on to their lower quotes. Futures firmThe January futures for RSS 3 finished at ¥280.5 against ¥280.9 a kg at TOCOM. It (spot) was almost flat at Rs 98.50 against Rs 98.43 a kg at Bangkok. RSS 4 concluded the January futures at Rs 94.02 against Rs 94.13 a kg on MCX. The January futures for the grade showed an almost steady trend at Rs 93.85 (Rs 93.67), February at Rs 95.26 (Rs 95.19), March at Rs 96.50 (Rs 96.59) and April at Rs 98 (Rs 98.35) per kg on NMCE. VolumesThe volumes declined to 892 (1,119) lots while the open interest rose to 7,054 (6,927) lots. The outstanding positions stood at 3,078 (3,121) tonnes in January, 2,815 (2,746) tonnes in February, 1,084 (1,026) tonnes in March and 77 (34) tonnes in April. Spot pricesSpot prices were (Rs/kg): RSS-4: 91.25 (91.25); RSS-5: 88 (88); Ungraded: 86.50 (86.50); ISNR 20: 87 (87) and Latex 60 per cent: 60.50 (60.50). More Stories on : Rubber
