Our Bureau New Delhi, Dec. 18 The hearing for a $400-million compensation claim filed by Reliance Communications subsidiary FLAG Telecom against Tatas owned Videsh Sanchar Nigam Ltd (VSNL) would be decided by early 2008 by the international dispute tribunal at Hague. The third round of hearing of the three-year-old arbitration case was recently concluded wherein both parties had made their submissions to the three-member tribunal. The decision of the tribunal in the first two rounds was in favour of RCom’s FLAG. Earlier in December 2004, FLAG Telecom approached the International Arbitration Tribunal after four years of negotiations with VSNL on international bandwidth failed to yield any result. FLAG Telecom’s FEA cable landing station in India was located at VSNL’s premises at Mumbai and the dispute pertained to sale of international bandwidth capacity and activation charges between the two companies.
