Our Bureau

Kochi, Dec. 20 At its annual management festival, Backwaters 08, the Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode, is launching a unique media contest which involves churning out ideas for innovative shows for the visual media.

Launched in association with Sony Entertainment Television’s youth channel, SAB, participants will come up with ideas that the channel would look to implement in its forthcoming shows.

The flagship event of Backwaters 2008, scheduled from January 11-13, will be Reliance White Knight, an event that is conceptually unique across all B-school fests. Now into its second year, it brings together the best minds of the country to solve the nation’s pressing problems.

The winning team shall take home Rs 1.5 lakh with an equal amount held in trust by IIM-K and released to an NGO when the idea gets into implementation mode. International participation this year is expected to go up, with more than 25 international B-Schools taking part, including universities that IIM-K has tie-ups with, for student exchange programmes.
