Education PG course in retail management
Mr Gibson G. Vedamani Bangalore, Dec. 20 To bridge the growing gap between talent demand and supply in the retail industry in the country, the Retailers Association of India has partnered with 15 B-schools to launch a post-graduate programme in retail management (PGPRM). “The availability of suitable talent to aid the growth of the retail sector in the country has been a challenge for the organised players,” Mr Gibson Vedamani, CEO, Retailers Association of India (RAI), said. Over 2.2 million people a re expected to be employed in the retail industry in the next three years. To select the students for the programme across the 15 B-schools, RAI will conduct a Common Admission Retail Test (CART) on January 27. CART would be conducted in 25 cities and comprise tests in quantitative analysis, logical reasoning, data interpretation and business and consumer awareness, a subject necessary for the retail sector, Mr Vedamani said. The PGPRM is an 18-month programme comprising 12-months classroom training and a six-month internship period. — Our Bureau More Stories on : Education | Retailing
