City Union targets Rs 12,000-cr biz

Coimbatore, Dec 20

Having achieved a milestone by crossing the Rs 10,000-crore mark business, Kumbakonamheadquartered City Union Bank is targeting Rs 12,000 crore by the end of this fiscal and more than doubling it to Rs 25,000 crore by 2010. The bank today announced that it has achieved a total business of Rs 10,000 crore comprising Rs 6,144 crore of deposits and Rs 3,877 crore advances, registering a 33 per cent growth. Having set its business target, the bank is also looking to establish a pan-India presence by adding at least 50 new branches by end 2008 and taking its branch network to 225, subject to the regulator's approval. - Our Bureau
