Spot rubber prices improve

Kottayam, Dec. 22 The domestic rubber prices improved on Saturday. In spot, sheet rubber RSS 4 flared up to Rs 93.50 and Rs 93 a kg respectively at Kottayam and Kochi from Rs 92 and Rs 92.50 a kg on Friday. On NMCE, the January futures moved up to Rs 96.61 (95.80), February to Rs 98.70 (97.57), March to Rs 100.44 (99.03) and April futures to Rs 101.99 (100.67) per kg for RSS 4. The volumes stood at 1,392 (1,353) lots and open interest 7,629 (7,364) tonnes. Spot prices were (Rs/kg): RSS-4: 93.50 (92); RSS-5: 91.50 (89.50); ungraded: 89.50 (88.50); ISNR 20: 90 (88) and latex 60 per cent: 61 (60.50).
