Wings iNet unveils new tool for hotels, restaurants

Our Bureau

Pune, Dec. 24 Software business solutions provider Wings iNet Technologies has launched CaptainPad, a wireless solution, for automating the order and bill execution processes in hotels and restaurants.

The company directors, Mr Pravin Jain and Mr Vijay Bhade, said in this solution, the captain has a wireless touch pad device. The whole menu card is loaded in the device and the captain could send the order from the device to the kitchen and billing station. KOT (kitchen order ticket), BOT (bar order ticket) and billing information would be generated immediately.

This system also generates different types of management information system reports to monitor and control the whole restaurant.

If the owner of the restaurant has a GPRS mobile phone, the complete information about the restaurant operations would be available on his mobile device, irrespective of the location.

Mr Vijay said the investment for this solution would range between Rs 2.5 lakh and Rs six lakh depending on the number of captains which the restaurant has.

The company has installed the device at Rajwada, a 600-seater restaurant, in Pune. Mr Vijay said another five more installations are being carried out and ten more are in the pipeline.

The device has also been installed at a hotel in Goa and one in Nagpur.

The target for December 2008 is to have at least 100 installations across the country, he said, adding that the company was also targeting the overseas market with the solution.
