Bali road map

The events on climate control in Bali were well presented by Mr N. R. Krishnan in the article “Bali meet on climate ends on a tame note after high drama” (Business Line, December 25). It gave me the feeling of having attended this meet. The US is continuously opposed to the Kyoto protocol, but we will see a change after the American Presidential Elections.

Though Bali meet does not present a conclusion or a clear road map on climate control, an awareness has been created by Al Gore and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).

The role of China and India must be appreciated in this context. India should declare a green fuel policy by adopting carbon mitigation methodology.
