Our Bureau

Hyderabad, Dec. 27 Geneva Software Technologies Ltd., has tied up with Andhra Pradesh Central Power Distribution Company Ltd (APCPDCL) to enable the latter to send SMS alerts in multiple languages.

While this service would be available in Telugu and English initially, the company plans to enable this service for Urdu as well.

This solution developed by Geneva would enable ACPDCL to reach all its subscribers in their local language over mobile SMS, irrespective of the handset the subscriber is using. This will however require public to register online or through SMS. Thereafter subscribers will get alerts on billing and related issues.

Inaugurating this facility, the State Energy Minister, Mr Shabbir Ali Mohamed, said that this service would add to the convenience of people.

The Managing Director of Geneva, Mr T. Murali Krishna Reddy, said that this service serves as a platform to ensure that people are informed about various issues in a cost-effective manner.
