Focus on duty

The article “Parliament in 2007: A lack of seriousness” (Business Line, January 3) has provided an insight into the functioning of Parliament in 2007.

For a Parliamentary democracy to reap reasonable dividends, all the individuals (including politicians) must be serious about what they are supposed to do.

There is considerable political, social and economic freedom for the representatives and the people in India’s Parliamentary democracy to progress, but this liberty must make them perform their duties in the best possible manner.
