Satyam Computer bags major Irish contract

Will offer business process management solutions for FETAC


The solution will automate several manual processes and provide FETAC with enhanced process visibility and performance, stronger collaboration with business stakeholders, and reduced service cycle times.

Hyderabad, Jan. 8 IT services provider Satyam Computer Services Ltd has announced that it has been awarded a major contract from Ireland’s Further Education Training and Awards Council (FETAC.)

Under the contract, Satyam will drive FETAC’s implementation of Business Process Management (BPM) solutions for its core business processes.

Multi-tiered tool

Satyam will use Teamworks, Lombardi’s award winning BPM suite to roll out a multi-tiered solution that includes Process Management, Business Intelligence and Document Management along with enhanced security and integration frameworks.

The solution will automate several manual processes and provide FETAC with enhanced process visibility and performance, stronger collaboration with business stakeholders, and reduced service cycle times.

In a statement to the BSE, Dr Keshab Panda, Director and Head of Satyam’s European Operations, said: “this win is a testament to Satyam’s commitment to providing a solutions-based consultative approach for our European customers. This approach has been a key to our success in expanding our presence in Europe.”

In another statement to the BSE, Satyam Computer announced partnership with Greenplum, a provider of database software for business intelligence.

iDecisions

Together, they expect to combine Satyam’s reach and expertise in delivering business intelligence (BI) solutions with Greenplum’s innovative database software. With this partnership, Satyam is building a dedicated practice around Greenplum’s technology which involves integration of Greenplum database into iDecisions for revenue intelligence and assurance for the telecom industry.

Satyam’s iDecisions is a technology framework to help telcos effectively identify and plug revenue leakage. Satyam will also resell and provide implementation and support services for the Sun Data Warehouse Appliance powered on Greenplum. The Sun Data Warehouse Appliance integrates Greenplum’s parallel database with general-purpose servers and storage from Sun.
