New Delhi, Jan. 10 The Capacity Building Scheme, aimed at providing technical and professional support to State level policy and decision-making bodies and at developing specialised skills under the National e-Governance Plan (NeGP), was approved by Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) on Thursday.

The scheme entails an outlay of Rs 313 crore for a period of three years and would be implemented by the Department of Information Technology (DIT).

The scheme includes the establishment of an institutional framework for State level strategic decision-making including setting up the State e-Governance Mission Team (SeMT); imparting specialised training, conducting orientation programmes for the SeMTs and decision makers (state legislators and senior bureaucrats), knowledge sharing and ushering in international best practices. It would also include the strengthening of the States’ training institutions.
