Hyderabad, Jan. 14 Subhiksha, a leading supermarket chain, will set up 25 exclusive stores to provide mobile connections, instruments, and the accessories in Hyderabad, and open 25 more in other cities and towns of the State.

These stores will offer a variety of communication solutions to customers. “We are going to help customers take informed decisions. They can compare prices and analyse various features before finalising a buy,” Mr Vinod Karnam, President of Subhiksha (Andhra Pradesh), told Business Line.

Besides, the retail major is planning to offer a variety of value-added services like downloads for handsets. The range, too, is quite attractive. “We are going to offer 110 models in GSM segment alone,” Mr Karnam said.

The company, which runs about 1,000 outlets in 90 cities in the country, is launching the telecom vertical in Andhra Pradesh after testing it elsewhere.

Laptop plans

At a later stage, these exclusive stores would also sell other devices such as laptops.

In Andhra Pradesh, the retail company had 105 stores, with more than half of them operating in Hyderabad. “We are going to add 20 more this financial year, with a good number of them coming up in Telangana towns,” he said.
