Tiruchi, Jan. 14

The Tamil Government has sanctioned Rs 6 crores for Tiruchi district as interim relief for temporary repair of public infrastructures that were damaged during the December rains. The Tiruchi Corporation has been allotted Rs 1 crore to mend damaged roads. A major portion of the funds would be utilised to repair roads, culverts and bridges, apart from temporary restoration works to plug breaches and erosions in tanks, rivers and irrigation channels, district officials told < em style="i">Business Line. The Tiruchi Corporation, the State Highways Department, and the Public Works Department (River Conservation Division) have been allotted Rs 1 crore each, officials said. —
