Lyric Labs sees growing demand for translation

‘We can handle up to 2,000 pages per day in almost all European, Indian and other Asian languages’.

L.N. Revathy

Coimbatore, Jan. 14 Translation and content localisation company Lyric Labs is quite bullish about the future.

It commenced operations in 1998 as a translation services company, scaled up its standards and services over the years to include publishing as well.

“This space is largely constituted by unorganised players. We are one of the very few to have made sizeable investments for setting up modern facilities. Ours is an integrated outfit offering both translation and publishing services and we have the facility to do it in more than 140 languages,’ its CEO, Mr V.R. Sasidar, told Business Line.

Stating that the demand for such services was phenomenal, particularly with a good number of MNCs looking to India for setting up their offshore facility, he said “the challenge now is in following a certain standard to service the global clientele.”

Certification

The company was recently awarded the DIN EN 15038 certification from TUV in Asia for its services.

Asked how this would help Lyric Labs, Mr Sasidar said this would help it work with bigger companies and leverage on its strength. “The growing demand for multi-lingual publishing induced us to establish and promote multilingual desktop and online publishing in almost all European, Indian and other Asian languages. The facility helps us handle close to 2,000 pages per day, including graphics and images.”

“Since the services have been streamlined, we are able to offer the translation and publishing services at unimaginably low rates to our clients, at least 25 to 30 per cent lower as compared to the operators in the US and Europe,” he said.

The Lab has registered a 200 per cent year-on-year growth the last couple of years.
