Rupee tad weaker

Mumbai, Jan. 16

The rupee weakened by about two paise against the greenback on Wednesday. The home currency opened at 39.27/29 and saw an intra-day low of 39.30 and a high of 39.26/27, before ending the day at 39.30, down from the previous close of 39.27/28. "There was some all-round selling seen at 39.30 levels, which pushed the rupee up to 39.26/27 for a brief period," said a dealer at a private bank. Dealers said that the rupee would continue to trade in the broad range of 39.25-39.30. In forwards, the six-month premium closed at 2.08 per cent (2.11 per cent) and the 12-month closed at 1.74 per cent (1.78 per cent). - Our Bureau
