Rubber Spot rubber stays steady Aravindan Kottayam, Jan. 17 Physical rubber prices were static on Thursday. The market activities were in a slow pace though major consuming sectors were reported to be active in the main marketing centres. RSS 4 closed flat at Rs 94.75 a kg at Kottayam while the grade improved by 50 paise to the same level at Kochi. The transactions were low. RSS 3 improved at its February futures to 279.8 Yen (Rs 102.63) from 278.4 Yen a kg at TOCOM. The grade slipped to Rs 103.79 against Rs 103.83 a kg at Bangkok. Futures firmThe February futures on NMCE firmed up to Rs 96.40 (95.69), March to Rs 98.64 (97.89), April to Rs 100.50 (99.96) and May futures to Rs 102.50 (101.94) a kg for RSS 4. The volumes totalled 922 (917) tonnes. The open interest stood at 8,266 (8,261) tonnes with 4,410 (4,503) tonnes in February, 2,908 (2,859) tonnes in March, 904 (873) tonnes in April and 44 (26) tonnes in May. Spot prices were (Rs/kg): RSS-4: 94.75 (94.75); RSS-5: 92 (92); ungraded: 90 (90); ISNR 20: 91.50 (91.50) and latex 60 per cent: 60 (60). More Stories on : Rubber
