Infectious disease: A trader reads news on the bird flu epidemic at a market in Kolkata on Thursday. Sale of birds dropped sharply in the last two days. The dreaded disease among chickens spread to new areas of Birbhum and Murshidabad districts of West Bengal even as culling of the birds in places already affected continued at a slow pace.
