States Akbar Travels opens office in Vizag

Visakhapatnam, Jan 28

Akbar Travels, of India Private Ltd, opened its first branch here and the 45th in the country, on Monday. At a press meet after the inauguration, the General Manager, Mr R. Kannan, said that the company was concentrating on Andhra Pradesh, Visakhapatnam in particular. "The improvement of facilities at the airport here will boost travel and tourism. Several low-cost carriers are operating flights from here. Vizag will become a hot tourist destination soon," he said. He said that apart from airline ticketing, the company was the largest car rental service provider in the country, with hubs at most airports including Vizag, Gannavaram (Vijayawada), Hyderabad and Tirupati.He said the company had also four overseas branches, and the Group had a holiday division (Benzys Holidays) and several other concerns. The turnover of the Group amounted to Rs. 2,500 crores, he added. - Our Bureau
