Karur Vysya Bank Q3 net profit rises 77%

Coimbatore, Jan. 29 Karur Vysya Bank net profit rose 77 per cent to Rs 46.43 crore in the third quarter ended December 31, 2007 from Rs 26.19 crore in the same period the previous year.

The operating profit went up 43 per cent from Rs 61.51 crore to Rs 88.25 crore. Total interest income climbed to Rs 302.54 crore (Rs 225.28 crore), while income on investments increased 24 per cent to Rs 71.28 crore (Rs 57.43 crore).

The net profit for the nine months ended December 2007 was Rs 137.79 crore (Rs 107.13 crore), an increase of 28 per cent.

Its total business crossed the Rs 19,000-crore mark as at the end of December 2007, with deposits at Rs 10,814.58 crore and advances at Rs 8,214.58 crore.
