Dabur India Q3 net rises 23%

New Delhi, Jan. 29 FMCG major Dabur India Ltd (standalone) on Tuesday reported a growth of 22.8 per cent in its net profit for the third quarter ending December 31, 2007, at Rs 88.14 crore, compared to Rs 71.73 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.

The company, however, recorded a marginal growth of 1.52 per cent in its net revenues during the quarter at Rs 516.44 crore (Rs 508.7 crore), according to the company’s notice to BSE.

“Dabur India registered robust sales growth across its key categories, with its toothpaste and shampoo brands continuing to grow ahead of the market. The international business, health supplements, hair care and digestives categories were the key drivers of growth during the quarter, growing at strong double digits. The cornerstone of our strategy is to continuously strengthen our portfolio and deliver consistent and profitable growth,” said Dabur India Ltd Chief Executive Officer, Mr Sunil Duggal.

The third quarter saw Dabur India introducing a host of new products — Chyawan Junior, Gulabari Hydrating Rose Crème and Lotion and Dazzl hard surface cleaners.

The company’s noticealso said that the Dabur Group (consolidated) posted a net profit (after minority interest) of Rs 94.5 crore (Rs 79.27 crore) for the third quarter ended December 31, 2007. Total income increased to Rs 654.61 crore (Rs 569.63 crore).
