Nissan names head for India operations

Mumbai, Feb. 2 Nissan Motor on Friday announced that it has named Mr Shohei Kimura as the Vice-President of the company’s India Project.

Mr Shohei will be the head for Nissan’s business interests and activities in India.

Since its establishment in February 2005, Nissan Motor India Pvt Ltd (NMIPL) has been engaged in import and distribution of X-TRAIL and Teana, as well as sales promotion and market research in India.

Together with its alliance partner Renault, Nissan is now in the process of establishing a plant in Chennai.

Mr Shohei will eventually assume the role of Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Nissan Motor India.

“As we begin our full operations in India, I am confident that we have a solid team in place,” said Mr Colin Dodge, Senior Vice-President and Chairman of Management Committee-Global Overseas Market, in the company statement.
