Harbinger Group launches FlockPod

Our Bureau

Pune, Feb. 4 Harbinger Group, a provider of software products and services, has launched FlockPod, which will provide social interaction service.

Talking to presspersons, Mr Vikas Joshi, Chairman and Managing Director, Harbinger Group, said FlockPod would provide a space on any Web page for users to collaborate and interact on-the-spot, share ideas, opinions, experiences, anecdotes or even to question, reason or debate.

This innovation is based on Harbinger’s patent pending technology, he said.

Mr Joshi said organisations could use FlockPod by inviting debate and feedback on electronic documents, conduct spot polls and surveys of their employees and customers, allow knowledge workers to support each other, collaborate on Web research, and create online user community, among others.

Mr Joshi said it is providing FlockPod as a subscription service, riding on the software-as-a-service (SaaS) formula. Organisations could set up and manage their own subscriptions, enabling their employees, partners and customers to interact. It is being provided free for a group of five, he said.

Considering the need for content moderation in user-generated content, the software allows administrators and pod managers privileges for deleting, archiving and blocking at source unwanted content, he added.
