‘Change Nagercoil, Coimbatore train timings’

Our Correspondent

Madurai, Feb. 11 The Tamil Nadu Chamber of Commerce and Industry has sought a change in the timings of the new express train between Nagercoil and Coimbatore.

While welcoming the introduction of the new daily express train between the two cities, Mr S. Rethinavelu, chamber’s President, in a statement here said that the timings needed to be altered to really benefit the people in and around Madurai. As per the present arrangement, the train departs from Nagercoil at 8.30 p.m. and arrives at Madurai in the midnight. In the return journey too, the train arrives from Coimbatore in the midnight.

The administration should change the timings such that the train from Nagercoil reached Madurai at 11 p.m. and from Coimbatore at 5 O’clock in the morning in the return journey to increase the patronage, he has appealed.
