New Delhi, Feb. 11

Kingfisher Airlines could operate the double-decker Airbus A-380 aircraft on some domestic routes, including Delhi. The Chief Operating Officer, Delhi International Airport Ltd, Mr Andrew Harrison, said that the new airport here would have three parking bays at the domestic airport which would be able to accommodate the A-380. “The bays would be ready by 2010 and Kingfisher Airlines has indicated that it may operate the A-380 aircraft on the domestic route. The airli nes has made the suggestion and there is no confirmation on their operations as yet,” Mr Harrison told newspersons on the sidelines of the Netherlands-India Civil Aviation partnership summit here on Monday. Kingfisher, which has ordered five A-380 aircraft is the only airline from India to order the aircraft. Officials indicated that the aircraft, which is the largest commercial aircraft in operation these days, could possibly carry 810 passengers on its domestic flights.
