Rubber Spot rubber prices rebound Our Correspondent Kottayam, Feb. 12 The domestic rubber prices rebounded moderately following a spurt in international rubber rates on Tuesday. The tyre sector revised their quotes to Rs 94.50 a kg for sheet rubber but they failed to procure the raw material at those levels since the prevailing rates were much higher. In the physical front, RSS 4 firmed up to Rs 95 from Rs 94.50 a kg both at Kottayam and Kochi as traders remained active on the grade expecting an improvement in demand in the immediate future amidst lower supplies.RSS 3 flared up to Rs 109.22 from Rs.107.33 a kg at Bangkok. Futures gainMarch futures for RSS 4 improved to Rs 96.70 ( 96.10) a kg on MCX. The February contract for the grade finished better at Rs 94.40 (94.25), March at Rs. 96.58 (96.63), April at Rs 100.10 (99.90) and May at Rs.102.10 (101.53) per kg on NMCE. There had been some profit booking at higher levels on late trading towards close, sources said. The Spot prices (Rs per kg) were: RSS-4: 95 ( 94.50); RSS-5: 93.50 ( 92.50);ungraded: 91 ( 90.50);ISNR 20: 92.50 (91.75) and latex 60%: 59 ( 59). More Stories on : Rubber
