NITK to host tech meet

Mangalore, Feb. 12

Engineer ’08 – the annual technical symposium of National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK) – will be conducted at Surathkal in Mangalore taluk between February 14 and 17. A press release by Mr Vaibhav Kabra, Convener of Engineer ’08, said here on Tuesday that the fourth edition of ‘Engineer’ has integrated a host of new ideas and events and promises to instil technical fervour amongst its participants.

Engineer ’08 will feature technical discourses through videoconferencing with eminent personalities who have excelled in their field. According to Mr Kabra, the prime highlight of Engineer would be its initiative towards a ‘socially conscious engineering’, featuring rural innovators; and ‘Last Word’, a panel discussion on ‘Social responsibility: An opportunity or obligation?’
