Rubber Spot rubber rules steady
Kottayam, Feb. 13 The physical rubber prices turned steady on Wednesday lacking follow-up support from traders. The leading international indices were also in a sluggish mood followed by profit booking at higher levels. Sheet rubber was flat at Rs 95 a kg both at Kottayam and Kochi as on Tuesday. The transactions were dull. RSS 3 spot closed Rs 109.34 from Rs 109.22 a kg at Bangkok. Its March futures weakened to ¥293.4 (Rs 108.46) from ¥294.8 a kg at TOCOM. Futures firmIn futures, the March contract finished at Rs 97 (96.88) a kg on MCX. The February contract for RSS 4 ended at Rs 95.10 (94.40), March at Rs 97.20 (97.04), April at Rs 100.40 (100.15) and May at Rs 102.15 (102.21)per kg on NMCE. The volumes were dull at 755 (1,699) lots trading 224 (527) lots in February, 303 (745) lots in March, 147 (274) lots in April and 81 (153) lots in May. The open interest stood at 6,902 (8,773) tonnes with 887 (2,888) tonnes in February, 4,131 (4,088) tonnes in March, 1,341 (1,285) tonnes in April and 543 (512) tonnes in May. Spot prices were (Rs/kg): RSS-4: 95 (95); RSS-5: 93.50 (93.50); ungraded: 91 (91); ISNR 20: 92.50 (92.50) and latex 60 per cent: 59 (59). More Stories on : Rubber
