Employment States - Andhra Pradesh Employment growing under Rajiv Udyogasri
The total number of people trained and given placements under this mission in the last three years is 4,56,515 and 3,02,180, respectively. While 40,157 people were given placements during 2005, it was 88,581 people in 2006 and 1,73,442 during 2007.
Hyderabad, Feb. 14 Infosys has recruited nearly 2,200 students trained by the Jawahar Knowledge Centres (JKCs), which was started in 79 colleges in the State during 2007. These JKCs have trained nearly 21,000 students. This is one of the Andhra Pradesh Government initiatives to train people and provide placement under the Rajiv Udyogasri project. The total number of people trained and given placements under this employment mission in the last three years is 4,56,515 and 3,02,180, respectively. InstituteThe Rural Development Department’s EGMM (Employment and Training, Employment Generation and Marketing Machine) will partner with IIM-Ahmedabad to focus on building an institute with high standards of excellence and a sustainable business model in services sector with retailing sales, rural BPOs etc. Memorandums of Understanding are now being worked out with clear deliverable time line outputs. A HDFC rural BPO has been started in Nellore, and a MoU with Apache and Maas Holdings, Nellore, has been signed. The Labour and Employment Department has now started new programmes like training to 40,000 drivers, 50,000 construction workers, 12,000 accounting and office assistants, 6,000 gems and jewellery cutters, polishers and makers, 5,000 land surveyors, 2,000 engineering service personnel and others. ‘Intensify programme’The Chief Minister, Dr Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, who reviewed the Rajiv Udyogasri mission, asked the departments to keep track of the trainees and also put all the details of the placements given so far on a Website.
