Spot rubber prices improve

Kottayam, Feb. 16 The domestic rubber market flared up in the weekend session. RSS 4 improved to Rs 98 from Rs 96 and Rs 96.50 a kg respectively at Kottayam and Kochi amidst low supply.

The rubber futures firmed up further quoting the March contract at Rs 99.70 (98.25) a kg on MCX. RSS 4 improved at its March futures to Rs 99.85 (98.90), April to Rs 102.99 (101.96), May to Rs 105.08 (103.98) and June to Rs 107 (104.55) per kg on NMCE.

The outstanding positions stood at 4,207 (4,209) tonnes in March, 1,571 (1,517) tonnes in April and 655 (605) tonnes in May and 45 tonnes in June on NMCE.

Spot prices were (Rs/kg): RSS-4: 98 (96); RSS-5: 96 (94.50); ungraded: 94 (92.50); ISNR 20: 94.50 (93) and latex 60 per cent: 63 (60).
