CII welcomes AP Budget

Hyderabad, Feb 17

The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Andhra Pradesh Chapter has welcomed State Budget 2008- 09, describing it as a `no new tax inclusive growth oriented budget'. In a release, Mr Pradeep Dhobale, Chairman CII, said the increase in allocations to irrigation projects, INDIRAMMA Housing, education (115 per cent higher than the current year), health (73 per cent higher than the current year), infrastructure (73 per cent higher than the current year) and rural and urban development were efforts in the right direction. In the pre-Budget memorandum to the Government, CII, AP had requested for Metro rail connectivity from the city to new International airport in Shamsabad. The of construction of outer ring road, elevated express way project and metro rail project would help decongest the city and bring down the travel time significantly, it said. - Our Bureau
