Our Bureau Hyderabad, Feb. 24 IT services provider Satyam Computer Services Ltd is eyeing the booming aviation sector business and has announced its move to sponsor the first Middle East Aviation Outlook Summit (MEAOS) 2008. The Satyam management is eyeing the potential in the aerospace and defence solutions, in addition to its ‘Travel and Logistics Practice.’ The growth in the regional market is reflected by the massive requisition it has placed to worldwide manufacturers, which is about 50 per cent of the world’s aircraft orders with a collective value of $50 billion in 2007. In addition to the sponsorship at the event being held in Abu Dhabi from February 26-28, the company is planning a series of road shows targeting the aviation sector. Satyam’s clients include Etihad Airways, Oman Aviation, Qatar Airways, Royal Jordanian, Kuwait Airways and Yemmenia. The Director and Head of Middle East and Africa Operations of Satyam, Mr Virender Aggarwal, in a statement to BSE said “as the IT partner of choice of six leading airlines in the Middle East and growing presence, we are exploring emerging opportunities in the region.” Satyam offers ‘Airline Express’, a complete airline back-office solution and is pitching ‘iDecisions for Airlines’, which provides airline-specific data model and reports. This is being backed by the ‘Right Sourcing’ model. More Stories on : Outlook | Software | Airlines | Satyam Computer Services Ltd
