Coir States - Kerala Delegation from China visits Coir Board Our Bureau Kochi, Feb. 25 An official delegation from China, headed by Ms Flora Tian, China General Representative, India-China Economic and Cultural Council, visited the Coir Board and held discussions with the senior officials. She was accompanied by Ms Joan Huang, Commercial Representative, India-China Economic and Cultural Council. They have also visited the coir producing centres at Alappuzha and Trikunnapuzha. Focus on ChinaThe delegation attended a meeting at Coir Board Head Office, Kochi, where various matters connected with the development of the coir industry in China were discussed at length. A presentation depicting various facets of the coir industry was made before the delegation. Mr P. Ajith Kumar, Joint Director, Coir Board, welcomed the delegates and explained the activities undertaken by the Board for coir development in India. The delegation was impressed by how the industry converts waste into wealth, and the presentation highlighted the tremendous potential for setting up coir-based industry. The team members evinced keen interest for developing the coir industry in their country.
