Infrastructure Pvt airport facility for jet owners planned Our Bureau New Delhi, Feb 28 InterGlobe General Aviation Pvt Ltd (IGGA) plans to have a fixed based operations for private jet aircraft in either Chennai or Bangalore in 2009, the Chief Executive Officer, Mr Nigel Harwood, said on Thursday. “At the moment, we are in talks with the GMR group, the promoters of Delhi airport, to have such a facility in the Capital. “This will be followed by another in Mumbai. We hope to open the facilities in Mumbai and Delhi this year itself. “Then the plan is to have one in south which would come up either in Chennai or Bangalore and probably come up some time in 2009,” Mr Harwood said at a press conference called to announce the opening of the first Hawker Beechcraft authorised service centre here. fixed based operationGlobally, an FBO is a stand-alone facility where private jets park allowing passengers the flexibility of completing immigration and security formalities quickly rather than using the area being used by passengers arriving by flights operated by scheduled airlines. IGGA has tied up with Hawker Beechcraft Corporation for setting up the service centre. The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Hawker Beechcraft Corporation, Mr Jim Schuster, felt that if the Government provided the right tax breaks for corporates, and infrastructure was developed further, then the sale of private jets would boom.
