Hyderabad, Feb. 28 Apollo Hospitals, in association with the Mauritius-based British American Investment Company, will set up a $70-million facility in the island nation, targeting patients from the neighbouring African and European Union countries.

Announcing this here on Friday, Dr Prathap C. Reddy, Chairman of the Apollo group of Hospitals, said the 200-bed Apollo Bramwell Hospital would be ready by January 2009.

The Apollo group would invest 26 per cent in equity in the joint venture company called British American Hospitals Enterprise Ltd, being set up in a debt-equity ratio of 1.25:1. Originally, the outlay was put at $50 million.

Mr Dawood Rawat, Chairman of the Mauritius company, said cabins will be built on the picturesque mountain tops to let patients recover faster after surgeries.
