Our Bureau

Hyderabad, March 3 Menezes Cosmetics India Pvt Ltd (MCPL), part of the Rs 650-crore Menezes Group of Goa, has launched ‘Insignia’, a men’s personal care product, for the Indian market.

The Rs 85-crore turnover MCPL has acquired total rights to sell the product in India, its neighbouring countries, Russia and Africa from UK’s Shulton, which is popular in the country through its Old Spice range. Insignia, a deodorant, will be available in five fragrances. It will be manufactured in the UK and imported to India for marketing by MCPL initially, said Mr G.K. Bhat, Managing Director of the company.

Year-ahead plans

Plans are on to create a manufacturing base a year from now. The company has units in Baddi (Himachal Pradesh), Ponda (Goa) and Aurangabad (Maharastra) at present, he told newspersons on the occasion of the launch of the product here.

In the next five-six months, the company plans to expand its portfolio with three-four products, including those for women. All these would be made in the UK, Mr Bhatt said.
