DoT nod for Tatas’ GSM plans

New Delhi, March 4

The Department of Telecommunications has given the go-ahead to Tata Teleservices Ltd and Tata Teleservices (Maharashtra) Ltd to launch mobile services based on global system for mobile communications (GSM). They had applied for dual technology after the Government permitted Reliance Communication and two other smaller CDMA operators to offer mobile services using the GSM technology as well.
