Coimbatore, March 10 The Coimbatore-based South India Textile Research Association (SITRA) is to be developed as a Centre of Excellence (CoE) for technical textiles. A formal notification from the Ministry to this effect will be issued soon.

Ms Sashi Singh, Joint Textile Commissioner, Mumbai, said SITRA will be developed as a CoE in the field of medical textiles.
