L&T unit gets ONGC contract

Mumbai, March 11

Engineering and construction major Larsen & Toubro said that its electrical and electronics division has bagged a Rs 74.7-crore contract from the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation for a SCADA system for onshore control centres (OCC). The system will be used for issuance of emergency shutdown commands to 133 well platforms and 13 process platforms from OCC or from a nearby process platform in case of emergency. The project involves setting up of control centres for 24x7 o perations and monitoring, besides video conferencing with offshore process complexes and drilling rigs. The work involves design, engineering, construction, installation and commissioning of OCC in Mumbai and offshore locations. The project is to be completed in 11 months.
