Hardware ARM expands Indian operations
Mr Tudor Brown Our Bureau Bangalore, March 13 ARM, a company designing microprocessor cores, said on Thursday it expanded its operations in India, making it ARM’s second largest design centre after Cambridge, UK. Mr Tudor Brown, Chief Operating Officer, ARM, said the Indian facility will now be able to accommodate about 700 people. This would give the company the ability to grow as required. At present, ARM has 350 people in India. Mr Anil Gupta, Managing Director, India operations, said the centre in Bangalore is a microcosm of the ARM global family since key technical functions including physical IP design, processor design, testing and embedded software design are performed here. Mr Brown said at present there are some physical IP products owned by Bangalore. The centre has acquired expertise and it is a logical extension of the growth that the centre has seen, he said. ARM began its India operation in 2004. More Stories on : Hardware
