Chennai, March 13 The Gurgaon-based InfoVision Group plans to raise around Rs 150 crore through private equity or from ‘strategic investors.’ This is to part-fund the Rs 400-crore investment planned for the next three years to scale up its domestic and international BPO (business process outsourcing) and KPO (knowledge process outsourcing) operations.

The closely held, profitable company is “ready for listing”, but now is not a right time for that, Mr Aditya Gupta, president and founder, InfoVision, told newspersons.

The company has a plans to more than double the employee strength to around 25,000 people in the next three years from the present 11,500. It has also set itself a topline target of Rs 1,000 crore by 2010, from Rs 260 crore.

The company gets around 75 per cent of its revenue from India through clients in the areas of BFSI (banking, financial services and insurance), retail, telecom, aviation and consumer durables. Around 25 per cent of its revenue comes from global clients such as Wal-Mart, Philips and Motorola. Around 90 per cent of its services were voice-based, attending to customers’ complaints, he said.

Mr Gupta said the Indian BPO was estimated to reach around $6 billion by 2012 from the present $1.80 billion. Independent BPO players like InfoVision will have around 30 per cent market share by 2012 from the present 18 per cent.

Expands in south

InfoVision on Thursday opened its new facility in Chennai to accommodate around 1,000 employees by this year-end. It has invested around Rs 15 crore in the facility. Already around 1,500 employees are working for InfoVision in Chennai and the number will reach 2,500 by the year-end, he said.
