Vivin Labs inks supply pact with US pharma firm

Hyderabad-based pharma intermediaries manufacturer Vivin Laboratories Private Ltd, has bagged a contract from the US-based pharmaceuticals distributor Cascade Columbia Distribution, for supply of specialty chemicals and veterinary drugs.

As per the agreement signed by the two companies, Vivin would supply 1,800 tonnes of specialty chemicals and veterinary drugs valued at $25 million per annum for three years, Mr B. Parvathiah, Managing Director, Vivin Labs, told newspersons here on Friday.

With this agreement, the turnover of the privately held Vivin would increase from Rs 40 crore (2006-07) to Rs 70 crore by the end of 2008-09, he said.

Vivin is also setting up a manufacturing facility for active pharmaceuticals ingredients (APIs) in a seven-acre plot in Pharma City, Visakhapatnam, with investment of Rs 35 crore.

“This will be operational by October,” he said.

In talks with Greek co

The company is also in talks with Greece-based pharma distribution firm K-Pharma for investment by the latter. “They are interested in investing in our company. We are talking to them but have not made up our minds on the issue,” he said.
