LIC increases stake in ACC

Mumbai, March 18

The Life Insurance Corporation of India has increased its stake in ACC Ltd from 12.8 per cent to 14.8 per cent. The corporation has bought 38.33 lakh shares which amounts to an additional 2.02 per cent stake in ACC. The shares were purchased in the market between March 6, 2007, and March 14, 2008, said a Bombay Stock Exchange notice. Before the transaction, LIC had 2.39 crore shares of ACC which has now increased to 2.78 crore shares. ACC's shares closed on Tuesday at Rs 758.80 on the BSE, down from the previous close of Rs 771.- Our Bureau
