The Cabinet also gave its approval for signing of memorandum of understanding between India and Malaysia on employment of workers. This would benefit the Indian emigrant workers, especially the unskilled, semi-skilled and skilled workers.

The MoU provides for facilitation of employment of workers between the two countries and the broad procedure for employment of workers. Bilateral co-operation in promoting orderly recruitment and development of workers including co-operation in pre-departure orientation and skill upgradation training are among some of the features of the MoU.
