Sify to offer niche ILD services soon

Coimbatore, March 21 Sify Technologies is planning to offer ILD services soon. A senior official of the company said that the process of fine-tuning the works was on and the roll out should happen in the next couple of months.

The company already has an ILD licence. The Executive President (Enterprise Solutions), Sify Technologies, Mr P J Nath, told Business Line that the company would be a niche player in this space, and not the likes of Telco or VSNL.

Security offering

It recently launched its end-to-end managed security service from its Security Operations Centre (SOC) in Bangalore. The offering aims to give its enterprise customers the entire suite of managed security service including round-the-clock monitoring and management of security devices, security event correlation and reporting and other value added services such as compliance monitoring and foresenic services.

“It is one of the fastest growing services in India. We are looking to cater both domestic and global customers,’ Mr Nath said.

The company claims to have good market exposure in the connectivity services business, with banks and insurance companies opting to use its services to network online business.

On market share, Mr Nath said ‘hosting services account for about 15 per cent, but we are strong in the connectivity business with 35 per cent-plus market share. The security services market is dominated by systems integrators.’

With large number of customers looking to outsource hosting services, Sify, according to Mr Nath focus on the hosting and infrastructure management services business by creating new data centres and leveraging on its strength in connectivity business.
