The Sattur Chamber of Commerce and Industries has urged the Prime Minister to control the abnormal rise in the price of edible oil and food products. In a letter addressed to the Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh, the Chamber Secretary, Mr P.T.K.A. Balsubramanian, has said that due to the steep rise in the prices, retail business men and common people have been affected severely. While the buying capacity has been going down, sales also have fallen and affected the small traders and their capacity to maintain their business.
