illycaffe to open 5 cafes in India, ties up with Narang Group

Italian coffee brand illycaffe has tied up with Narang Group to launch high-end café concepts in India. The company will launch five cafés in India within the next one year.

“The Narang Group has been roped in as the master franchisee for developing and opening of the cafés throughout the country. We hope to have atleast 35 cafes in next five years,” Mr Andrea illy, Chairman of illycaffe, told reporters here.

The first espressamente illy will be launched in the Bangalore airport. “We will be following four models for the franchises, varying from a 200-sq ft simple outlet to a 1,500-sq ft flagship store and we are going to focus more on opening flagship outlets in metro cities initially,” the Narang Group Joint Managing Director, Mr Rohit Narang, said. The espressamente illy is a project launched by the illycaffe in 2003 for expanding its base globally and has, till now, opened over 175 cafes in over 30 countries.
