LG’s retail push for PCs

Bangalore, March 31

LG Electronics has tied up with retailers such as Croma, Reliance Digital, Metro Cash and Carry, Jumbo Electronics, Hypercity, Next, E-zone and More to boost retail presence of its PCs. According to a press release, at all these retail outlets, LG has placed trained promoters. The company has focussed on branding and display at these outlets. It is also working towards “exclusive models” for large retail chains, added the release. LG is selling its latest range of widescreen notebooks — the E200 and E300 —through the Croma retail chain. Mr V. Ramachandran, Director- Sales and Marketing, LG Electronics India, said: “The sudden growth in the large format retail sector has taken everyone by surprise. The vendors believe the market would be pretty big, running into hundreds of millions of dollars.”
