Hyderabad, March 31

Indian School of Business (ISB) has received a Rs 350 crore grant for its Centre for Information Technology and Networked Economy (CITNE) to expand its research programmes.

Mr Srini Raju, an entrepreneur from Hyderabad, has donated the fund which would be given to ISB over a period of five years, Mr M. Rammohan Rao, Dean ISB told newspersons here on Monday.

In addition to the five centres of excellence operational at present, ISB would be opening two more for marketing and real estate soon, the Dean said, adding, “We hope somebody will come forward to support them as well.”

Prof Ravi Bapna, Executive Director, CITNE, said the proceeds of the grant would be utilised for expanding the scope of research projects.

The CITNE is working, at present, on various e-governance models, impact of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) at the grassroot level of society and economic impact of mobile telephony on rural population in India. It is also planning to take up training programmes for IT professionals.
