KSSIA, Syndicate Bank in credit card pact

Our Bureau

Kochi, March 31 Kerala State Small Industries Association has tied up with Syndicate Bank for the issue of Synd Laghu Udyami credit card, which provides a maximum credit of Rs 2 lakh to the members of KSSIA Social Security Fund, a Trust that undertakes welfare schemes for its members.

The credit amount can be operated as an overdraft. Members banking with other banks can also avail the scheme. This card can be used to withdraw cash through the bank’s ATMs. The scheme will be a great relief to many small industries as it will help them tide over emergencies, Mr Joseph T. Cyriac, Chairman, KSSIA Social Security Fund, said.

He said the fund has been set up to provide financial help to members in the event of any serious illness or death. If a member dies, a nominee will receive Rs 15 lakh within one month of the person’s demise.

Convention centre

KSSIA has also proposed to construct a modern convention centre in Ernakulam district. This centre could be used to hold major industrial exhibitions and other industrial activities.
